Rademeyer wins 2013 Rossi Classic
Cat Buys Rademeyer from Boksburg, has won the 2013 World Physique Federation Rossi Classic, which was held at the SAX Arena in Centurion on Saturday, August 24.
Rademeyer shrugged off 12 other ladies to claim the title in the 16-hour long event.
This win is yet another addition from her previous bodybuilding wins, including Body Beautiful SA 2011 and Nabba Provincials 2012.
Husband Peter Rademeyer was in attendance as he watched on with a sense of pride apparent on his face as his wife picked up the number one spot.
“Very proud of her. I always said she belongs under the spotlight, right from the beginning when we started our journey as one, five years ago,” he enthused.
Rademeyer also took time to give reserved mention to her sponsor Supashape, which she said have supported her all the way.
Next for her are the WPF Nationals, which will take place on Saturday, September 28, at Gold Reef City.
Very passionate about what she does, Rademeyer has given some encouraging words for aspiring body bodybuilders and individuals who are planning on living a healthy lifestyle.
“I have always had a passion for fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle, it is what I have wanted to do since high school,” she said.
“I have been training for eight years and focused more on weight-lifting in the last four years.
“I officially started competing in 2010 at Body Beautiful SA, and I was approached by a sponsor at the time who requested that I enter the competition. I claimed an amazing second place.
“I was bitten by the sport and have been competing ever since with my husband supporting me 100 per cent.
“I also started my own business almost two years ago to expand my knowledge in order to help others lead a healthy lifestyle, whether it be weight loss, weight gain or preparing to get on stage and shine.”
And her advice on how to get to the top of the sport: “To win a major competition, you have to be 100 per cent dedicated and committed. Eat clean and put a lot of hours in the gym.
“Also, one should definitely seek professional advice, especially when it comes to composure for stage. Presence and appearance is everything.”
Some of the important tips when it comes to diet is having five light protein-rich meals like eggs and chicken breasts, grilling your food instead of frying, and also sticking to foods with high fibre and low fat.

Her tips for the gym include going to the gym at least four times a week and always remembering to stretch before, during and after exercises.
