Power fully restored to Reiger Park
Power supply has been fully restored to the Reiger Park area in Boksburg.

The supply was restored this morning at 11am following extensive repair work by technicians from the City of Ekurhuleni.
“We, together with the consumers, are equally relieved that the electricity supply has been restored. Now that the faulty cables have been repaired the work to lay additional cables in order to stabilize the system continues,” metro’s spokesperson Sam Modiba explains.
Power supply to the area was interrupted when a construction vehicle drove into medium voltage (mV) overhead cables in Ramaphosa and caused a short circuit on the cables.
This resulted in a fault current – an electrical reaction that goes through the network – affecting multiple cables in Ramaphosa and Reiger Park.
Electricity supply was restored to Ramaphosa by Monday (July 29).
By yesterday afternoon a larger portion of Reiger Park had power supply with technicians still working on a cable fault affecting a small portion of the area which has since been repaired.
