Blues through to cup semis
Boksburg FC put on a great performance against a top side to advance in the cup.
They beat Fangia, who had beaten the Blues earlier in the season, 3-1 in Benoni on Wednesday night, July 31.
The match was a League Cup quarterfinal clash.
Goals by Michael Viljoen, Sean Watt and Bruce Williams ensured victory for Boksburg.
“It was a solid team performance,” says player-coach Mario Maia.
This performance comes on the back of a 2-2 draw with Germiston FC in the league.
Boksburg now have a chance of finishing the season with silverware and with cup performances such as this one would have to be brave to write them off.
Maia also had words of praise for goalkeeper Tefo Tladi and midfielder Darian Maia.
