ROBBED

• A gang of robbers recently stormed the Ackermans store at Sunward Park Lifestyle Centre and made off with a substantial amount of money. The robbers threatened the supervisor with a firearm and took him to the office, where they stole brand-new cellphones. They also took money from the cash register before fleeing the scene.

• A resident of Golden Oaks complex in Pretoria Road, Comet, fought in vain to prevent thieves from stealing his company vehicle which was parked in the property on March 21.

The victim was, according to the police report, watching TV in his unit when he noticed someone opening the door of his company vehicle, a white Nissan NP200. Thereupon, the stranger started to drive towards the exit.

The complainant immediately got into his personal car and drove fast to the gate to block the exit. The thief then exited the complex through the entrance after crashing into the boom gate.
