Four suspects nabbed for the alleged theft of water pipe

The Boksburg North SAPS is appealing to anyone who might have had their water pipe stolen recently around Anderbolt to urgently go to the police station.

This comes after the Boksburg North police arrested four men who were caught pushing a water pipe in Anderbolt on March 15.

According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the four men, aged between 27 and 35, told the police that they were going to sell the pipe to a local scrapyard in Boksburg North.

“When the police asked the four men where they got the pipe, they gave unsatisfactory answers which led to their arrest. “We are urging the owner to come and identify the stolen water pipe,” said Ramaube.

The police believe that the stolen property is worth about R14 000.

The suspects were charged with possession of suspected stolen property, including tampering with essential infrastructure.

They will appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
