Oosthuizen returns to the hexagon

Oosthuizen will be looking to improve on his 3-3 record and regain some redemption following his most recent fight: a loss to Asiashu Tshitamba who knocked him out cold at EFC 81.

Beyers Park mixed martial artist Billy Oosthuizen will star in EFC 84 set to be staged at the Time Square arena in Pretoria on Saturday, March 14.

The man who will be standing between Oosthuizen and him getting back to winning ways this time around is DRC international Aly ‘The Viper’ Kalambay (0-2-0) who will come into their featherweight duel as the slight underdog experience wise.

Quizzed on the imminent clash against The Viper, who will be desperate to get his first ‘W’, the ever confident and charismatic Oosthuizen responded: “He (Kalambay) is a tough striker but he’s coming off two losses, nothing to be worried about.

“I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been with my new training team.”

When the Advertiser asked the local striker how the savage knockout affected him, he explained: “It’s part of the game, it made me get back up stronger and train harder.”

The two clash on the undercard of EFC 84 which will be headlined by the welterweight title fight between defending champion Themba Gorimbo (8-2) and Lyle Karam – who will be putting his unbeaten record (6-0) on the line.
