Neighbourhood watch to collect donations during mass patrol

Every year, AfriForum neighbourhood watches conduct several national patrols. The aim is to increase visibility and mobilise awareness within communities.

The local AfriForum neighbourhood watch will be collecting donations in aid of Kuselo Youth and Child Care Services during their national patrol on March 13.

The members assist the SAPS in acting as their eyes and ears.

Helen Bergh, AfriForum’s Boksburg chairperson, explained that they will also be collecting items for Kuselo during the patrol, which is expected to take place from 6pm till 6am.

“If members of the community are willing to make a contribution during the night of the patrol, we will come and collect the items from their residential homes in Boksburg,” Bergh explained.

She added that the organisation will provide more information regarding the place for the start of the parade closer to the time.

Amanda Coetzee, founder of Kuselo, said that they are always in need of items such as food, clothing and toiletries, adding that financial contributions will also be appreciated.

The chairperson may be contacted on 072 144 5693 for more information.
