
The police have opened cases of murder and inquest after a police officer shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself on February 17.
The policeman, who was working at the Vosloorus police station as a detective, lived with his wife in Windmill Park.
According to Gauteng police spokesperson Capt Kay Makhubele, the officer who had 12 years of service in the SAPS allegedly killed his wife at their home in Windmill Park.
Investigations continue.
