To celebrate Madiba’s 95th birthday, the Boksburg SAPS, along with the Victim Empowerment Centre and the Youth Desk, visited the Angelo informal settlement, to have a talk with the residents about crime and domestic violence, in particular. Speakers also spoke about the role of the forums, that work hand-in-hand with the police to prevent crime, while encouraging residents to become involved in the fight against crime in their communities. To celebrate Mandela Day, Sinethemba Havehope Home Bases Care teamed up with the Reiger Park CPF and Youth Desk to feed more than 100 elderly people in the Delmore informal settlement. The gogos were treated to delicious vegetable soup and bread. They wished Madiba a happy birthday and speedy recovery. The community celebration featured singing and dancing. Geppetto Kids Daycare Centre partnered with the Reiger Park SAPS and celebrated Nelson Mandela Day with an act of community service. They fed dozens of elderly people and children of the area. Seen during the celebration are employees of the centre, members of the Reiger Park SAPS as well as children of the centre.
To celebrate the birthday of the unifying force, Nelson Mandela, the Reiger Park SAPS, along with the Youth Desk, visited Tokyo and Delmore informal settlement to hand out party packs and fruits to children of different crèches. These items were sponsored by various shops from Reiger Park and Elsburg. The police team plan to continue celebrating Mandela Day with acts of community service for the whole month of July, so they are accepting donations to handover to needy people until end of July. I
To celebrate the anti-Apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday, Hyundai, Boksburg, has gone the extra mile by donating a car to St Anthony’s Education Centre. The technical training at the centre received a boost on Thursday, when Hyundai Automotive South Africa handedover a Terracan training vehicle to the centre.
