Boksburg North SAPS station commander Col Khumbulani Mbatha and branch commander Lt Col Kwena Meso applauded the police for their hard work.

The Boksburg Magistrate’s Court recently sentenced Romoeo Kongolo (23) to an effective 30 years’ imprisonment for the two robberies he committed.

During Kongolo’s sentencing it was discovered that last year April, a 55-year-old victim, together with his wife who reside in Witfield, were accosted by three male suspects.

The victims were tied while the suspects robbed them of their belongings such as a television set, microwave, electrical appliances and three cellphones.

According to Boksburg North SAPS’s Const Justice Ramaube it was also discovered that during September 15, 2018, the same suspects robbed other victims in Lilianton.

“They took two televisions, cellphones and a laptop. On that particular day Kongolo was arrested by the security guards and was handed over to the police,” Ramaube said.

The case was lead by W/O Vusi Tlemo from the Boksburg North Trio Task Team.

Kongolo was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment each for both robberies committed and they will run concurrently.
