Curro Academy Parkdene brings cheer to Pet Rescue

In a statement, the local Curro Academy said since they are a community-orientated school, they believe every tin of food makes a difference.

Curro Academy Parkdene learners did their part and donated some food and blankets to Pet Rescue recently.

Pet Rescue is based in Benoni and is a privately-run shelter and a NGO that has been established in 2002. Their primary objective is to positively change the hearts of pet owners in the poorer communities, thereby minimising neglect, pain and suffering of animals.

“We can make a difference through education and awareness,” said Karin Myburgh from Pet Rescue.

The Curro Academy thought it is was a great idea to support Pet Rescue, considering winter is approaching fast and animal shelters are dependent on the support and donations of the community.

The academy urges other schools and community members to also do their part by donating any old blankets or food to the fur friends in need.
