“We welcome companies and higher education institutions to exhibit any career opportunities to unemployed youth or any bursary/learnership/internship opportunities to the youth of Ekurhuleni,” said Thobejane.
“This year we will have tablets installed by the YDN Academy section where learners can apply for university and for bursary, learnership and internship opportunities on line at the expo.
“The aim of hosting the expo is to expose the learners to different career paths and to strengthen their existing career choices. We are targeting 1 000 unemployed youth and Grade 12 learners for this year’s expo.
“Last year’s expo was successful as we had so many exhibitors coming on board and learners from various high schools in Boksburg. We also extended our services to include placement of graduates for learnerships/internships opportunities.

“Skycode Pty Ltd sponsored the buses which fetched learners residing in Vosloorus and Reiger Park.”
She said Lucazi Civil Engineering, Skycode Pty Ltd, Tswaranang Construction Works, Butla Projects, Pick n Pay Lakesfield, PAM Goldings Propert Estate and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants exhibited at the expo.
