Aida Boksburg holds blood drive as every drop counts
Aida will hold another blood drive in two months and hope that they can once again rely on the public’s support.
Aida Boksburg did more than was required at their blood drive and fund-raiser that was recently held at the Boksburg Bowling Club.
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is always in need of blood and struggles to keep up with the high demand.
“We care about the community. It feels good to make a difference. How would you feel if someone you love couldn’t be saved because nobody cared enough to donate just one pint of blood?” said Denver Ramnath, the event organiser.
“Every drop counts. I hope that we can make people aware of the fact the SANBS is running low on blood supply”, said Ramnath.
The appetising aroma of boerewors rolls and jumping castle added to the entertainment as the audience was encouraged to donate blood.
The sale of the rolls and raffle tickets helped Aida to raise money to contribute to Kusela Child and Youth Care Centre, Urban Ruins and Touch of Hope. They also welcomed donations from sponsors and attorneys.
“We love children and we want to give back to the community. I really believe that we are making a difference in these children’s life. They are grateful for things that other children take for granted,” Ramnath added.
