Former Super Motard champion off to the UK

The local racer is scheduled to depart on February 19.

Former Michelin Super Motard king Brent Harran will be leaving our shores for pastures in England.

Harran, (25), who hails from Sunward Park, is preparing for his first race of the British Superbike Championship, which is scheduled for April 21.

He’s since been practising at the Red Star Raceway in Delmas from early last month and has also been involved in regional race events since losing out on his Michelin Super Motard title to Greg Gildenhuys.

Commenting on the imminent change in his life, he said: “I’m looking to moving to an area called Beverly, further up north close to York and Leeds.

“I’ll be working there as well and if I do really well with the racing, I’ll be able to race full-time as a career.”
