Watch: ERBW meeting serves as an eye-opener
The iris is divided into segments, like a watch, and it works like a computer, body keyboard, brain and hard drive.
Marius van der Vyver, an experienced iridologist, grabbed the attention of over 30 women who attended the April East Rand Business Women function at Summer Place on April 11.
He shed some light on how to study people’s eyes.
According to van der Vyver, iridology is the study of the iris – the coloured part of the eye.
“The study of iridology is so vast, when we train at our school it takes two days to show student various photos of eyes as part of the practical training.
“After months of case studies they will present their case studies and I will assess them. After this, it will still take them months to properly analyse an iris.”
The speaker highlighted that every person’s eye is unique.
“Iridology is an extra tool you can use in your professions.”
In a person’s eyes you can see the genetics, personality, injuries, operations, infection, timeline where a person had a trauma in their life and the amount of stress, van der Vyver revealed.
“We’ve found that 95 per cent of people with blue eyes are ‘pit bulls’ or ‘Labradors’.
“In a typical old conservative setup in an ideal world, if a female is a ‘Labrador’ she is soft, gentle, stays at home, looks after the children and she’s there for the spouse.
“If a male is a ‘pit bull’ he is the head of the home, strong assertive and a good provider.”
He shared that if the woman is a ‘pit bull’ in a relationship she is going to be the stronger one and other people may look at the male and say his weak.
“The best relationship you can go into is to date someone who has the same personality.
“In business, you can actually take pictures of your employees and put them in certain departments according to their personality.”

“You can put a ‘pit bull’ in charge because they work in a certain way, but if you put a ‘Labrador’ in charge, other staff members tend to manipulate and take advantage of them because they are caring people.
“You can put a ‘Labrador’ in finance and administrative jobs because they are just caring people,” van der Vyver said.

After the presentation, the members had the opportunity to chat with the guest speaker who also took a photo of their eyes and revealed some interesting things about their lives.
