Motorists are being urged to be cautious while waiting at traffic lights.
This follows several reports of thugs who wait for their prey at some traffic lights in Boksburg, including the notorious one at the intersection of Field and Main Reef roads at the Angelo informal settlement.
In one of the latest incident, a driver had his cellphone stolen by a gunman who ambushed him while waiting for the traffic light to turn green at this intersection on March 16.
The thug aimed a firearm at the driver through the passenger window and demanded the cellphone.
The robber took the phone and fled the scene.
No shots were fired and no injuries reported.
