Falons u-16 rugby team make history with a champion performance
The 2017 Falcons u-16 side entered junior club rugby folklore when they were recently crowned the Noordvaal Rugby Week champions for the first time in the tournament’s 11-year existence.

They beat the Lions 26-8 in the final.
Ten formidable teams took part in the competition, including the likes of the Blue Bulls, Lions, Pumas and Griquas, just to list a few.
Fifty per cent of the squad was made up of Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen players, with 11 representatives out of the 22 boys.
After the tournament, an u-16 Noordvaal team was selected to tour Ireland in December, with five of the 11 boys from EG Jansen making it.
On the first day of the tournament, the Falcons faced the Bulls and won 21-10. Their second game was against the Limpopo Blue Bulls and they won that game 26-10.
This put the Ekurhuleni outfit on the cusp of glory as they booked their spot in the finals.
Prior to the mid-year school holidays, three trial sessions took place for the selection of the Valke A team that would participate in the tournament, which ran during the first week of the school holidays.
A squad was selected and played three warm-up games before the final 22 was decided on.
The rest of the team was made up of four players from Jeugland Hoërskool, three from Hoërskool Hans Moore, three from Hoërskool Kempton Park and one from Hoërskool Hugenote.
