Jump back into time with Boksburg’s first Medieval Sport Festival

Boksburg’s first Medieval Sport Festival will take place at Wild Waters on August 26, at 9am.

The festival is a non-profit event. The aim is to collect new and used stationery for less fortunate school-going children, as well as jeans.

A drop-off point will be at the main entrance on the day.

Funds raised will also be used to assist an animal welfare organisation (yet to be named) and Women and Men Against Child Abuse..

Any other organisation in need is welcome to book a stall.

There will be stalls selling medieval items.

Schools and companies are invited to compete in four medieval sports.

Other entertainment on the day includes a fancy dress, sword fighting, mechanical bull riding, archery, and much more.

The Johannesburg Zoo will be presenting an educational and informative talk about pets and will bring along strange pets for children to see.

The evening, from 6.30pm to 10pm, will host a banquet in true medieval style. There are only five tables left.

For more information on the festival, contact Antoinette van der Merwe (schools/companies and activities during the festival) on 083 966 2144; Michelle Erwee (stall requirements) on 072 037 6062; and Martin Erwee (medieval banquet) on 072 200 7212.
