* A suspect was arrested on a charge of business burglary on July 13.
The complainant was working at his business in Cason Road, Boksburg North, when an unknown person entered the shop, wanting to sell a vehicle battery.
“The complainant recognised the battery as one stolen from his business during a burglary the previous day,” said Coetzer.
“The complainant took the suspect to Boksburg North SAPS, where he was arrested for burglary.”
The suspect pointed out to police where he had sold the other batteries and the owner of this shop was arrested.
Further investigation led to the arrest of another suspect.
They were detained at Boksburg North SAPS.
* A suspect was arrested for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle and the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
While Benoni Flying Squad members were patrolling the N12 highway on July 12, at around 1pm, they received a call for police assistance regarding a BMW they suspected was a stolen vehicle.
The police stopped the vehicle at the Jet Park off-ramp. The driver co-operated and the suspect and vehicle were searched.
According to the police communications officer, Capt Juanita Coetzer, the vehicle was linked to a Norkem Park stolen vehicle case.
“They found two firearms in the vehicle, with the serial numbers filed off. One was a .45 pistol and the other a 9mm Browning pistol with magazines and ammunition.”
The suspect was arrested and the vehicle and firearms confiscated and handed in at Boksburg North SAPS.
The case is under investigation.
