Masemola leads Blues rout of Germiston

Boksburg Football Club captain Mpho Masemola scored a hat-trick to lead the Blues to an away 4-1 win over Germiston on Saturday, June 3.

The skipper added on to Kagisano Seforo’s penalty conversion as the Blues wrapped up the comfortable win following a string of disappointing results in the ELFA Super League encounter.

Blues coach Melvin Kruger said: “We lacked a bit of sharpness, fatigue kicked in and we missed a few clear-cut chances or else the margin would’ve been bigger.

“You know, when you’re an unfit team playing against a fit team, it becomes a bit of a problem,” added the coach.

The Blues have been hit by the closure of their traditional training base, the Boksburg City Stadium, which will be undergoing a facelift for the rest of the year.

The junior Blues took the spoils in a nine-goal fest, beating Sandton Park 5-4 in their league encounter at PG Park on Sunday, June 4.

Striker Rudean Peters led the win with a hat-trick with Thapelo Seforo and Happy Matapa completing the scoring.

The Blues have shown an impressive run of continuation in recent weeks, with this win coming after two victories and a single draw in May. – @SabeloBoksburg
