Rockmania Showdown at The Rock
A brand new year erupts, as the popular-by-demand annual Rockmania Showdown event gets underway on Saturday, January 21 at The Rock Raceway.
Organisers have promised that the event is going to be a show-stopper of note, as the renowned circuit prepares to come alive with high octane-boosted power. All of the favourite racing and drifting drivers will hotfoot around the 400m circuit in various disciplines – and take on the drift gauntlet, set before them on the day.
Drift fans will be in for a special treat this year, as they have the opportunity of a lifetime to ride shotgun with a drifter on the track, in a suicide ride showdown.
Car and racing fanatics are urged to come in their exponential numbers and be part of the action trackside – and experience the fast and furious thrill for real; and capture their moment of fame in a drift car.
It’s going to be a slideways affair, filled with lots of tyre smoke and adrenalin to match.
Plenty of V8 action from the outlaw V8 sprint cars, will ensure high power thrills. A host of oval saloon classes will also be racing including the 1600 stock rods, 1660 modified saloons, pinto classes, Lexus class and super saloons. Open wheelers will include the micro midgets and formula 2 midgets.
High speed action from the formula N circuit cars, will keep you riveted to your seats as the saloon car drivers jostle for position around the tricky race circuit.
For Sound Off fans, Bass Triggers will also be on hand as they test the beat boxes of various chariots. So if you think you have what it takes to have the highest DB readings, then bring your daily drive along and enter the Sound Off competition.
