Trinity Belles Chapter to don the red hat for another celebratory year

Boksburg’s Trinity Belles Chapter Red Hat Society celebrates 10 years of existence in 2017.

Yvonne Demmer, current Queen of Trinity Belles, started the chapter which consists of 28 members.

“Although a number of the chapter come from the Trinity Community Church, there are others who are from Bedfordview, Kempton Park and Crystal Park,” said Demmer.

“Two of our ‘chapterettes’ passed away last year. One is in a hospice in Benoni, but would love to join us and she does so in spirit, if not in body.”

Demmer strives to make it a caring group, so that if anyone is sick or needs help, they are there for her.

It is a women’s only group and any lady can join. The society goes out once a month and has fun.

The ladies older than 50 wear purple outfits and red hats and those under 50 (of which the chapter only has one), wear lilac outfits and pink hats.

Each person also has a fun royal title (example Duchess, Lady, Countess).

Trinity Belles has some exciting outings planned for this year. The chapter is having their first outing for 2017 at Frida’s Coffee Bar, in Germiston, on Saturday, January 21.

The coffee shop is situated at 49 Hatfield Avenue – and the fun will commence at noon for 12.30pm.

They are meeting at Trinity Community Church and will go in convoy; those not living in Boksburg will go direct.
