Run for Mea relay challenge proves to a roaring success

The Run 4 Mea Relay Challenge was recently held at Hoërskool Jeugland in Kempton Park, to raise funds for Mea’s medical expenses.

Mea (6) from Boksburg, is slowly recovering from cerebral meningitis, after a whole year of going in and out of hospitals and ICU.

She’s currently on continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) – a treatment that uses mild air pressure to keep the airways open, for most of the day.

According to Mea’s mother Zandre Meyer, they received an overwhelming support from the public.

At the challenge, Mea made a guest appearance as she did a lap of honour in her specialized Ottobock chair, while supporters cheered her on.

“As a family, we’d like to thank our friends for their support and we wish to thank Jeugland and all the people who contributed to the success of the event,” van Rensburg said.
