Reiger Park residents gain the skills needed to start own businesses
In efforts to tackle unemployment and create opportunities for disabled people in Boksburg, 28 disabled people from Reiger Park were provided with the skills required to become entrepreneurs.
As part of the government’s empowerment and skills development project, Vukuzenzele, the 28 disabled people participated in a four-month new venture creation programme presented by Limco Consulting and the Reiger Park Centre for People with Disability.
The training will help persons who wish to start, operate, manage and grow a small- to medium-sized business.
Those who completed the course received certificates during a graduation ceremony which was held at the Youth Centre for Christ Church on November 24.
The training provider was Limco Consulting and management.
According to Limco’s MD, Sibusiso Matsinye, the purpose of the training is to develop the appropriate skills and knowledge required by a person for the establishment and development of a small- to medium-sized business.
“These graduates are now equipped with a variety of technical, business managerial, personal skills and strategies to help them succeed in the creation and sustaining of a business,” explained Matsinye. -@FanieFLK
