As a class, they decided to start their own environmental initiative. They called it #TreesMustRise.
The class decided to raise money to plant indigenous trees on the school property.
The learners started a chocolate raffle and asked their teacher to approach some local companies for donations.

Spar Boksburg came through with trees and compost, while Code Cabin donated money.
The money raised by the learners went towards purchasing five indigenous flowering trees for the school and a borehole booster pump that would be used to water the trees.
The class was enthusiastic when they planted their trees recently.
The Grade 9Fs were incredibly grateful to everyone who donated money towards their project, which will make a difference.
