Lives of Windmill Park learners brightened by new shoes

Selope Thema Foundation recently donated 39 pairs of school shoes to disadvantaged children at Windmill Park Primary School.

Another 60 pairs of school shoes will be donated end of September to more learners of the school.

Transnet CEO and the chairperson of the Foundation, Siyabonga Gama, said the main purpose of the foundation is to look after orphans and children from disadvantage backgrounds to give them hope that there is a future if they focus on their education.

“Education is the foundation to a brighter future, so our mission is to take care of their well-being while they focus on their studies to better themselves. We decided to donate shoes because they are sustainable and can last for a long time,” Gama said.

Community leader, Anita Adams, expressed her joy towards the foundation for the wonderful work they have done.

“I am glad that the foundation kept their promises to come to the school and donate shoes to the learners,” Adams said.
