Mnguni Hostel was the main target as information provided pointed to the hostel harboring dangerous wanted criminals and those involved in serious crimes.
The police focus was on blocks G, H and I.

EMPD spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago said 10 men and two women who are between the ages of 21 and 39 were arrested for public drinking while a couple of 60 years and 50 years of age was apprehended for possession and dealing in dagga.
“A total 56 cases of beer were confiscated from a tavern operating illegally without a valid permit,” said Kgasago.

Kgasago said intelligence-driven periodical swoops on the hostels in Vosloorus will take place until those who are wanted as well as those who commit crime and use the hostels as a hiding place are apprehended.
All the arrested persons were charged at Vosloorus Police Station and are expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.
