Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe said repairs in the Comet and Pebbel Falls areas have been completed and technicians are busy running tests.
He said power in these areas was expected to be restored by 6.30pm.
“In Sunward Park, repairs to faulty cables are underway and power will be restored by 11pm tonight,” said Radebe.
He added that efforts and resources have been increased to ensure power is restored at the earliest time possible.
Gadebe said earlier today that power interruption was due to medium voltage equipment failure affecting Sunward Park, Freeway Park, Impala Park and surrounding areas.
