Cops nab Angelo gang rape suspect

Boksburg police have arrested one of the three suspects who they had been searching, in connection with the gang rape of an Angelo informal settlement resident.

The alleged rapist was apprehended on May 10.

The victim told the police that she was walking along one of the streets in the settlement on May 8, when the man and his accomplices allegedly dragged her off the street to the nearby open veld – where they took turns raping her.

As if that was not enough, one of the men allegedly later dragged the woman into his shack, where he continued to rape her.

The other suspects are still on the loose, but police said they are working closely with the community to bring the sexual predators who committed this gang rape to justice – and they will not stop until every one of them is held accountable.

Anyone with information about the attack should call the Boksburg SAPS crime office on 011 841 6843.

The Boksburg police have also arrested 42 other suspects for various offences during the period May 9 to 16.
