CRIME BRIEFS: Premature baby found dead on pavement

The following cases were reported to the Boksburg North SAPS the past week.

* A premature baby was found dead on the pavement, on May 6, around 8.30pm.

The Boksburg North SAPS were called to the c/o Fourth Street and Tenth Avenue.

“Paramedics declared the baby deceased on scene,” said Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident, please contact Det Sgt Dennis Zuma on 011 306 0000.

The police urge the community to assist them with any information or if you know of someone who has any information to share with them.

* Suspect found hiding in tree, arrested for trespassing

A suspect was arrested for trespassing after the police found him hiding in a tree on a premises.

On May 8, at about 12.51am, the complainant was in his house when he heard a noise outside in the yard.

According to Coetzer, he went and checked his CCTV footage and noticed an unknown man on his premises.

He called his security company and the SAPS.

“The suspect was found hiding in a tree,” said Coetzer.

He was searched and found in possession of a panga, pliers and a saw.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Boksburg North SAPS.

* Possession of stolen property, suspects arrested

Three suspects, who robbed a security officer in Trichardts Road, have been arrested and detained at Boksburg North SAPS.

Const Frans Ledwaba was doing crime prevention patrols when he received a call of a robbery, on the c/o Sixth Street and Rietfontein Road, Boksburg North, on May 6, at 8.30pm.

“Upon arrival, he found three males apprehended by a security officer,” said Coetzer.

“They informed him that the suspects robbed another security officer, in Trichardts Road.”

The suspects were searched and the stolen property was found in their possession.

They also had motor vehicle break-in implements in their possession.
