SA movie star trains with JP Kruger
South African actor Brandon Auret is hard at work training for his latest screen project.

To boost his gruelling training regimen, the ‘Isidingo’ actor recently teamed up with MMA tough guys JP ‘Tinkerbell’ Kruger and Tumisang ‘The President’ Madiba at the House of Tinkerbell Kickboxing and MMA Academy in Boksburg.
Auret said his new project remains a secret. He did, however, say that it involves ‘District 9’ director Neill Blomkamp.
“I can’t tell you about it, but I’ll tell you it’s not a movie,” he said, adding that all will be revealed soon.
Commenting about his experience training with the EFC duo, Auret added: “They are icons and training with them exposes them to more people and more fans, growing my fan base and theirs – I’m becoming a social media prostitute.
“They are investing in my career and my future, which is why I want to give them exposure and give back to their future.”
True to sportsmanship, Auret’s training partners share the same level of respect for him.
“What a humble legend,” said Kruger. “He is definitely a natural athlete.”
Madiba echoed Kruger’s sentiments. “It’s been a pleasure to work with him because as an MMA supporter, he understands the concepts and we didn’t have to start from scratch, making him easy to teach.”
Auret is originally from Brakpan and grew up in Springs. His family lives in Boksburg. – @SabeloBoksburg
