Music event raises R1 180 for SPCA

A total of R1 180 was raised for the Boksburg SPCA during a music charity event.

The fund-raiser was held at The Brazen Head, Parkrand, on February 28.

A group of people from the Boksburg Masonic Lodge, The Brazen Head and musicians DJ Chappie, Charl Barnard and André Wepener were the organisers.

“Our grateful thanks to all of them, as well as the people who attended the event and donated food, blankets, towels, pet beds and money,” said Boksburg SPCA vice-chairperson Jeni Dawes.

“The support of the community is something so special and appreciated from the bottom of our [the Boksburg SPCA] hearts.”

“Every item donated is gratefully received and allows us to assist every animal in need we can.

“Whether it is providing a safe haven, medical care, finding a loving forever home or helping to end suffering, we can continue to provide such a service more efficiently because someone cared.”
