Alcohol debt leads to fired shots

The Dawn Park Police arrested a 40-year-old man for attempted murder on Sunday, November 15.

According to Const Nkemeleng Mabula, from the Dawn Park SAPS, police responded quickly to a complaint of a shooting in Camphor Street, Mapleton.

“The complainant alleged that he was at his place of residence when he was approached by his male neighbour, who told him that he owned him money for one beer,” Mabula said.

“The neighbour pulled out his licensed firearm and fired several shots at the complainant, but the complainant was left unharmed.”

The suspect was arrested and will appear in the Vosloorus Magistrates Court soon.
