“We pride ourselves on being an Eco three compliant company, but now everything we have put in place is useless,” said the complainant.
The problem has now come to a stage where it can no longer be tolerated.
The blockage allegedly started with the drains outside the premises.
“What’s now happening is that the water from our oil separators can’t flow away, because the outside drains are blocked,” said the complainant.
“The oil separators are now useless, because they can’t trap the oil properly and is pushing the water and oil out.”
Apparently the company has spoken to a couple of people at the Ekurhuleni Municipality and received a few reference numbers, but to no avail.
* In another case, the Advertiser was also informed about a blocked sewerage drain at the main entrance of Chemgrit SA (Pty) Ltd, Jet Park.
This has allegedly been ongoing since July and, according to the complainant, they are not getting any help from the municipality.
He added that the sewerage blockage is causing problems, especially after it rains.
The metro has been contacted for comment. No response was received by the time of publication.
