NO VISIBLE INJURIES: Man found in dam wore maroon pants, white takkies

The Boksburg North SAPS detectives are still investigating the circumstances of the death and the identity of a man who was found floating in Witfield Dam on July 25.

Police were notified by community members who noticed the body in the dam, near the corner of Sharon and Main streets, at around 1pm.

The body of the unknown man was retrieved from the water by the SAPS and Metro Rescue Units.

Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Lieut Juanita Coetzer said that Dean Slater, from Emer-G-Med, declared the unknown person dead at the scene.

“He was wearing a red sweater top, maroon pants and white takkies,” said Coetzer.

The cause of his death remains the subject of an investigation and Coetzer said the body had no visible injuries.
