Jubilation, heartbreak at ELFA Cup week
With league action taking a break, local teams Boksburg Football Club and CBC Old Boys took on Bonaero Park and Alberton in their respective drama-filled quarter-final knockout cup games.
CBC travelled to Alberton on Thursday evening, July 23, to take on the Eastern Premier League defending champion in a match that saw Alberton’s decisive goal being scored in the dying minutes of the clash for a nail-biting 3-2 win.
Meanwhile, Boksburg did things the hard way against Bonaero on Friday evening at the Boksburg Stadium.
The Blues beat the visitors 3-2 in a penalty shootout after leading 2-0 at half-time. The teams couldn’t be separated at 2-all after extra time.
