World Pool Championships: Du Toit, team SA eliminated in quarter finals

South African Championship pool player Pieter du Toit and his team of fellow players secured a quarter-final finish at the 2015 World 8 Ball Pool Championships in Blackpool, England.

Following their emergence as one of the playoff qualifiers at the tournament, South Africa went on to face the world’s leaders of the game before succumbing to the Welsh in the quarter-finals.

The tournament ran from June 19 to July 1 and saw the host country crowned as world champions following their 8-3 triumph against Scotland.

In the individual stakes, Du Toit crashed out in round two against a rival from India. England’s Mick Hill was crowned the men’s world champion in the individual game.

Du Toit and his teammates earned their stripes for the trip to Blackpool following outstanding performances in the South African Pool Championships.
