Tribute paid to 13-year-old Pretoria Road accident victim
A memorial service was held at the Reiger Park Primary School to pay tribute to the late Jayden Abdul (13) on Thursday, June 4.
The child died in hospital from complications to his injuries following a head-on collision involving a BMW and Toyota Auris, on Pretoria Road, on May 22.
According to Jayden’s father, Alistar, there was never a dull moment when his son was around.
“He was just a normal boy, he enjoyed swimming and playing. I was so heartbroken when I heard the news. Words cannot describe how I feel.”
Jayden’s aunt, Alzoreen, thanked the community for the support and the prayers.
During the service, Gail October, a Reiger Park Primary teacher said: “We were shocked to hear the news of the accident. I remember it was on Friday.
“We prayed for his wellbeing. He was such a happy and playful boy, full of energy. He always wanted to help other children.
“We are praying for his cousin, as he is still recovering in hospital. We have to support the family because they are going through a very difficult time.”
The funeral will be on Saturday, June 6, at Agape Ministries in Reiger Park from 9am.
