Mayor ready to tackle his sixth Comrades Marathon

This year’s Durban to Pietermaritzburg ”up” run will be Gungubele’s sixth appearance in the famous race.

The mayor has an impressive return in the Comrades, winning a medal in each of his appearances thus far.

“I have been hard at work for many months now,” explained Gungubele.

“My preparations have been going well and, come Sunday, I shall collect yet another medal.”

Gungubele has also taken part in the Two Oceans Marathon, among other races.

This year’s Comrades race will stretch for 87.72km. – @SabeloBoksburg
