CBC Premier XI win hard fought battle against Aces
The CBC Old Boys Premier XI won their second league match in as many weeks, when they held off Gold One Aces, at CBC, on Saturday, April 18.
Gareth Miller’s goal in the first stanza proved decisive, as the home team ground out a 1-0 win to maintain their perfect start to the new campaign.
“It was a hard-fought win, it wasn’t pretty; we managed to contain them in midfield where the game was ultimately won,” said CBC coach Glen Brierley.
“We’ve brought new guys into the side, guys who are a lot fitter and dedicated, and that’s helped our cause this season.”
