Woman robbed while sleeping

A woman was awakened by the harsh flashes of a torch shone in her face at around 2am, on Monday, April 6, in Dawn Park.

According to Dawn Park police spokesperson Capt Charles Tshabalala, two unknown men entered the woman’s home demanding money and other valuable items.

“After telling them she didn’t have money, the suspects took her cellphone and television set and demanded her car keys before fleeing the scene,” he said.

“Luckily, her car has a tracker and it was recovered later that day, in Windmill Park.”

Tshabalala said it remains a mystery how the men gained access to the house.

He said no shots were fired and no one was injured.
