According to William Ntladi, spokesperson for EMS, the two vehicles, carrying three occupants each, collided in Commissioner Road near Angelo Deep mine houses.
“Three men and two women were declared dead on scene by the paramedics while another patient was transported by ambulance to Tambo Memorial Hospital with serious but stable injuries.”
Ntladi says that the Jaws of Life had to be used to free four of the deceased out of the wreckage while the fifth body was flung out of the vehicle during the impact.
“The road was temporarily closed for traffic as wreckage was scattered across the road.
“An inquest docket has been opened by traffic officers on scene for further investigations,” says Ntladi. – @CarmenBoksburg
