Sanral receives clean audit

The Ministry of Transport, under whose mandate Sanral operates, announced that Sanral received a clean audit from the Office of the Auditor-General of South Africa.

Vusi Mona, spokesperson for Sanral, says that the unqualified audit confirms that Sanral’s financial statements were deemed credible and complied with all statutory requirements.

“In short, everything was accounted for and all monies were properly spent and managed, despite various challenges that were faced.

“The audit will go a long way in increasing Sanral’s transparency and accountability, while demonstrating commitment to meeting the requirements of the Public Finance Management Act at the state-owned company,” says Mona.

He adds that Sanral is a veritable engine room of the nation’s economy, through its well-maintained, and safely-engineered national network of roads and bridges; it drives the wheels of economic-growth and empowerment.

“As a credible custodian of tax payers’ money and investor funds, it is thus, imperative that there are no deficiencies in internal financial control.” – @CarmenBoksburg
