Barnyard opening celebrated with fun rock party

The new Barnyard Theatre at Emperors Palace, officially opened its doors to the public recently.

The Barnyard Theatre was previously situated at the East Rand Galleria.

The new theatre has a seating capacity of 400, including an in-house catering division.

The Barnyard interior conveys an old-school farm feel, where guests are treated to a cultural journey inside the ‘kraal’-like housing.

Members of the media and special guests were invited to the official launch function on Wednesday evening, August 13.

The Barnyard’s hit show, Time Warp, where ‘Rock Stars, Hollywood & Broadway collide’ celebrated the opening of the new venue.

Time Warp is a gigantic rock party that had guests on their feet as the 11-strong cast performed some nostalgic songs.

The production features timeless hits and incredible dance sequences from the best movies and musicals of our time, including Grease, We Will Rock You, Men in Black, James Bond, Moulin Rouge, Footloose, Fame, Saturday Night Fever, Dirty Dancing and more. Time Warp will be performed until August 31.

“The addition of South Africa’s best-loved theatre franchise to our complex is going to create a long-term synergy between thrilling entertainment productions and an ideal location,” says complex GM, Nigel Atherton. – @IschkeBoksburg
