Boksburg Judo Club impresses at SAs

The local judo club maintained their impressive run this year with another fine showing at the South African Open Championships in Port Elizabeth from July 7 to 12.

The championships, where the club won six gold medals, served as a major confidence booster for the SA Schools Championships in October.

Three of the club’s members were also invited for cadets in February next year, namely Emile van Rensburg, Juan Lopez and Edzardt Jansen van Vuuren.

“Our athletes trained really hard for 10 weeks, with four nights’ training per week to prepare,” says the club’s Sensei Stewart Braybrooke.

“Our fitness came through. Thank you to Clearwater Lifestyle Estate for sponsoring our tour costs and helping our athletes get to where they are.”
