Ruan Potts faces a ‘Freight Train’ in next fight

Local MMA fighter Ruan “Fangzz” Potts is set to take on America international Anthony “Freight Train” Hamilton in a heavyweight clash at UFC 177 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

Both fighters will be looking to jumpstart their UFC campaigns at the August 30 event, having suffered debut losses respectively.

Hamilton (12-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC), who stands 1.96m and weighs a hefty 115kg, had a six-fight winning streak abruptly ended by Alexey Oleinik with a first round submission at UFC Fight Night 44 late last month.

Having also come off an impressive three-fight winning streak prior to his debut at UFC, Potts (MMA 8-2, 0-1 UFC) was stopped in his tracks by a tough Soa Palelei, who knocked him out in the first round at UFC Fight Night 40.
