Much-needed groceries collected for retirement village
In an attempt to collect much-needed groceries and toiletries for the Cosmos Retirement Village, Gerald Grose Estates had their first "Grosery Drive" event on Saturday, May 31.
The staff from Gerald Grose Estates collected an enormous amount of necessary items from the Sunward Park Pick n Pay shoppers.
Each community member who donated an item were entered into a lucky draw and stood the chance to win a hamper worth R500.
Marinda Weideman was the lucky winner.
Gerald Grose Estates’ personnel paid a friendly visit to the retirement village and donated the groceries and toiletries, as well as blankets, on Thursday, June 5.
Principal from Gerald Grose Estates, Greg Grose, says that he’s got a strong team and everyone pulled together to collect these vital needs for a worthy course.

“My team was exceptional. This was also a good team-building opportunity.”
Grose also mentions that they would like to make the “Grosery Drive” an annual event.
“The intention is to do it often – probably every six months.”
A social worker from the retirement village, Karin Meyer, says that the gesture of the staff from Gerald Grose Estates is very heart-warming.
“The elderly should not be taken for granted and with this gesture it shows that they’ve got a passion for the elderly. We thank them for their passion and gratitude.” – @IschkeBoksburg
