Potts suffers UFC debut loss
Boksburg's own, Ruan "Fangzz" Potts suffered a knockout loss in his UFC debut match against Australia's Soa "The Hulk" Palelei on Sunday, May 11 in Cincinnati, US.
The heavyweight clash was part of the main card of UFC Fight Night 40, which took place at the US Bank Arena.
Having escaped Potts’ signature triangle choke, “The Hulk” produced a powerful, roundhouse left that left “Fangzz” out, cold, after 2:20 minutes of the first round.
Following the victory, Palelei took the time to praise Potts, before wishing women around the world a happy Mother’s Day.
“He’s a tough opponent; anyone that fights in the UFC is tough,” said Palelei.
