Volbrecht opens new boxing gym

Former South African boxer and current trainer Harold Volbrecht, opened his new Hammer Gym at the Nashua building in Boksburg, on Monday, April 14.

A-list members of the country’s boxing fraternity attended the opening, including Golden Gloves promoter, Rodney Berman, who cut the red ribbon.

Other attenders included Volbrecht’s trainees Tommy Oosthuizen and Johnny Muller, as well as the British boxer Martin Murray, who headlined the box and dine boxing event at Emperors Palace on Tuesday, April 23.

Murray was joined by his agent and advisor Andrew Mikhail, and also renowned boxing trainer, Colin Nathan.

Volbrecht thanked everyone who was involved in the building process of the training facility, while he also paid an exclusive tribute to Richard Wainwright, the owner of Nashua East Rand.
