Local resident runner-up in poker tournament
After going heads-up against each other in the opening event of the 2014 WPT Emperors Palace National Poker Championship at Emperors Palace on Thursday evening, April 3, Max Sartirana of Boksburg congratulated Shaun Govender of Yellowwood Park in Durban, after the latter clinched the event and collect the winner’s trophy and a cheque for just over R240 000.
It was still a good day at the office however, as the East Rand player also took home R141 500 for finishing as runner-up in the event, which started on Tuesday, April 1.
